Motorsport / Automotive Vehicle Technicians & Mechanics

ASL Technical are proud to partner with a renowned UK-based luxury automotive brand who are seeking experienced and highly skilled Vehicle Technicians and Mechanics from a motorsport, automotive dealership, or specialist automotive environment to join their expanding team on a contract basis. This is a unique opportunity to work within a cutting-edge automotive manufacturing environment, producing ultra-exclusive vehicles engineered for unrivalled driving experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the production and assembly of low-volume, high-quality vehicles across all models at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
  • Collaborate with team members, especially within Manufacturing Engineering, to meet production targets and ensure product quality.
  • Operate machinery on a low-volume production line, loading/unloading and assembling parts while ensuring correct allocation to Stillages.
  • Conduct quality checks for any defects and ensure accurate labelling of finished products.
  • Accurately record data into the build book/log, including torque and serial number details.
  • Maintain strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, identifying process improvements and corrective measures to enhance efficiency.
  • Participate in problem-solving activities and support Cycle Time change planning, line rebalancing, trials, and training initiatives.
  • Assist in new model activities and continuously work to improve the manufacturing process alongside engineering teams.
  • Uphold shop safety initiatives and ensure timely resolution of any issues.
  • Maintain the production standard of general housekeeping duties as required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
  • Ideally qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in vehicle repair, or HND in Automotive or associated Engineering subject.
  • 3+ years experience in an automotive dealership, motorsport, or OEM environment, ideally within low-volume, high-performance manufacturing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment commonly used by automotive technicians and mechanics, including hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong understanding of assembly processes and equipment used in automotive manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Effective communicator with strong teamwork skills.
  • Competent in basic computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Resilient under pressure and able to work to strict production targets.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
Contract Details
  • Contract duration: 3 6 months (PAYE)
  • Competitive hourly rate (based on experience)
  • Holiday entitlement in line with legislation (25 days per annum)
