Job summary

A local vehicle service provider in Guiseley is seeking a Motor Vehicle Mechanic to perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, a relevant certificate, and experience in the industry. This position offers a standard working week with occasional Saturday shifts and a salary dependent on experience.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
• City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 certificate (or equivalent) is required.
• Previous experience in a Motor Vehicle Mechanical environment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Repair or replace faulty components like engines and brakes.

Job description

Overview

Motor Vehicle Mechanic – Guiseley. Superb Family-Owned Local Business - Large MOT station, vehicle repairs/servicing and Car Showroom.

Hours: 08:30 – 17:30, Monday to Friday. 2 Saturdays a month 08:30 – 12:30. Salary: dependant on experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Repair or replace faulty components, such as engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
• Use power tools and hand tools to complete repairs
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles and equipment are in proper working order
• Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• You will need to hold City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 certificate (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Engineering, with previous experience working in a Motor Vehicle Mechanical environment, excellent customer service skills.
