Mobile Vehicle Technician – Northampton

RAC – Full‑time, 40‑hour week (Mon‑Sat, 8:00‑4:30). Base salary £38,625, potential earnings up to £50,000 with bonuses and overtime. Guaranteed overtime option to increase base to £44,385 plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities. 1 in 4 Saturdays.

Job Summary

As a Mobile Mechanic in the Service, Maintenance and Repair division, you will bring expert vehicle maintenance and diagnostic skills directly to our customers, delivering first‑class service from driveways to office car parks. You will receive an RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools and a diagnostic kit from day one, promoting independence and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and checks on the road.
  • Manage stock, conduct reporting and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, representing the RAC with pride.
  • Make on‑the‑spot technical decisions and problem‑solve under varying conditions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
  • At least 3 years of hands‑on experience as a vehicle technician working with a range of light vehicles.
  • Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
