Plant Operator JCB457 and other relevant duties

We are looking to recruit a Full-Time plant operator. You will work at Lower House Farm Transfer Station in Dordon. Other duties will include weighbridge operations and deputy cover for the Transfer Station Supervisor.

The Role

As a plant operator, this is a full-time role of 37 hours per week Monday – Friday at Lower House Farm, there will be a requirement to be flexible and be available to work overtime as required. Duties will be use of the JCB457 ensuring the transfer station is clean and tidy. Loading vehicles when necessary and to ensure that the site is run in a safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant manner.

Other duties will be to cover the weighbridge and deputise for the Transfer Station Supervisor in any absence. You may be required to cover on the HWRC aswell. You will be responsible for ensuring the site meets all duty of care and other legislative requirements, that the site is fully operational and able to accept waste during operating hours. The operator is also responsible for ensuring plant machinery is appropriately operated and maintained.

Key Requirements
  • To be successful you will have experience of working with members of the public and have a real interest in waste minimisation and recycling.
  • Working at a Transfer Station you will have the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • You will be used to working outdoors in all weathers as well as being capable of physical, manual work and operating machinery.
