Mobile Mechanical Engineer

Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire (Mobile - Midlands Region)

Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time (40 hours per week) | On-call rota included

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Mobile Mechanical Engineer to join a leading facilities management team, working across a range of sites in Stoke-on-Trent and the wider Midlands region. The successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and installations of mechanical systems, primarily focused on heating, hot water systems, and general plumbing.

This is a field-based role requiring flexibility, a proactive approach, and a commitment to high standards of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair heating, hot water systems, and general plumbing
  • Carry out mechanical fault finding and diagnosis
  • Complete installation work and relevant compliance certification
  • Undertake basic building fabric maintenance tasks as needed
  • Respond to system faults and breakdowns, providing swift resolutions
  • Ensure spare parts and materials are available and report on usage
  • Carry out Point of Work Risk Assessments (POWRA)
  • Participate in the on-call rota for out-of-hours emergency support
Requirements:

Essential:

  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in mechanical maintenance or mobile engineering roles
  • Full, clean UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Gas Safe Registration or relevant combustion experience
  • Legionella Awareness
  • Asbestos Awareness
