Overview

Mobile Fitter | Wishaw | Pumps & Plant Maintenance

We are working with a leading UK pump rental provider with a national reputation for quality, reliability, and service. They are now seeking a Mobile Fitter to join their engineering team, supporting operations in and around Wishaw. This is a field-based role ideal for someone with mechanical experience in construction, plant hire, or utilities, confident working independently on customer sites to service and maintain diesel pumps and associated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair diesel-powered pumps and associated mechanical equipment
• Carry out fault-finding and diagnostic work on returned or in-field equipment
• Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance across the rental fleet
• Ensure work meets manufacturer standards and health & safety requirements
• Check, document, and report any equipment damage or recurring issues
• Communicate effectively with managers and internal teams regarding spare parts, downtime, and repair updates
• Complete all service records using a company tablet
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and take care of tools and company vehicle
• Support the workshop team during absences when needed
• Uphold high standards of customer service and professionalism on client sites

Qualifications & Experience

• SVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
• Proven experience working as a mobile or workshop fitter, ideally in pumps, plant, or construction equipment - Must understand diesel engines
• Knowledge of isolation, safe systems of work, and site safety requirements
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Flexible, reliable, and proactive with strong attention to detail
• Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends if required
• Full UK driving licence
