Job description
Overview

This holiday season we are looking for Mission Christmas HQ Co-ordinator to join us for Mission Christmas in Liverpool. Mission Christmas is the largest Christmas gift appeal in the UK. Our aim is to ensure every child wakes up to a present on Christmas morning; however, for many children their family circumstances mean this may not be the case. Families living in poverty face the daily dilemma of whether to buy clothes for their children, heat the house or put food on the table. Christmas is a luxury they simply cant afford. Rising costs have tipped many more families into financial hardship, and Christmas 2023 will see an even greater need for help from Mission Christmas. By uniting our community, we can bring some Christmas magic to all children, making sure they have the joy of a present to open on Christmas Day.

The Mission Christmas HQ Co-ordinator has a vital role to play in making our mission a reality. This is a temporary role where you really will be playing Santa!

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the smooth operation of our Mission Christmas HQ. This is where all donated gifts are received, sorted and then prepared for collection by local partner organisations, who will ensure they reach the children most at risk in time for Christmas Day.
  • Manage a team of volunteers.
  • Manage drivers who will be collecting donated gifts from key locations across the area.
  • Liaise with our Mission Christmas drop-off points.
  • Liaise with our Mission Christmas partner organisations (such as social services/children's services teams, refuges, schools and other organisations who will ensure gifts reach children in time for Christmas morning).
  • Communicate with individuals, community groups, schools and businesses who are fundraising or donating to our Mission Christmas campaign.
  • Collect photos, audio and video content to bring Mission Christmas to life on our radio stations, social media and digital platforms.
  • Moving and lifting gifts.
