Job description
Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced midwife who has extensive experience across multiple departments within the maternity setting to join the clinical education team. As a Midwifery Clinical Support Midwife you would be supporting all grades of students and staff within the clinical environment to develop their clinical skills.

The successful post holder will be supernumerary to the clinical workforce and required to provide support to staff across all departments depending upon daily needs. They must demonstrate empathy, patience, passion for the profession, and be able to provide pastoral support to others, fostering a positive working environment and supporting career development through coaching and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach newly qualified clinical professionals and/or students on placement to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Provide clinical expertise on a range of projects, supporting best practice and enhancing the learning environment for all.
  • Liaise and work with other practice area support staff to ensure consistency across the setting and blended learning approaches to support the transfer of learning/skill attainment.
  • Raise the profile of practice development, share good practice with others, and support managers.
  • Work as an integral member of the section to develop appropriate strategies and support for relevant staff in early career, and support retention.
