A local educational institution is looking for a Midday Assistant to support students during lunch breaks. You will help maintain a calm atmosphere and promote respectful behaviour while ensuring students feel safe. Ideal candidates should have experience working with young people and a commitment to safeguarding. This role offers the chance to contribute positively to the school environment.
Midday Assistant
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 10 hours, 38 weeks (term time only)
Working pattern: 11.10am - 1.10pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: Pathway 1, £5,505 - £5,591 per year (FTE £24,413 - £24,796)
Site: Queen Katharine Academy

As a Midday Assistant at Queen Katharine Academy, you’ll play a vital part in supporting students during their lunch break, whether in the lunch hall or outdoor spaces. You’ll help maintain a calm and positive atmosphere, encourage respectful behaviour, and ensure students feel safe and supported. You’ll be a visible role model, helping students make the most of their time at school and contributing to their wellbeing and personal growth.
We’re looking for someone who communicates clearly, works well in a team, and brings empathy and initiative to the role. Experience working with young people is essential, and you’ll need to be confident in following safeguarding procedures and promoting a culture of kindness and fairness.
