Overview
We are excited to offer the opportunity for a Support Worker role in the Mansfield and Ashfield Mental Health Support Team, which works alongside schools providing early intervention work and promoting mental health.
We are keen to hear from people who have experience in working in a CAMHS setting or those who have worked with children, such as a youth worker, teaching assistant, or similar role.
Responsibilities
- Deliver workshops and assemblies developed by the team to groups of young people in schools on the theme of emotional health and wellbeing.
- Support promotional events and parent events within schools; occasional out of hours work to cover parents evenings.
- Assist with peer mentoring schemes run in schools and work on projects to support service delivery.
- Follow directions from the link worker allocated to the schools; work will be supervised and supported by the wider clinical team for each locality.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use; reasonable adjustments available for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
- Experience in a CAMHS setting or with children in roles such as youth worker, teaching assistant, or similar.
- Desire to contribute to mental health and emotional wellbeing initiatives in school settings.

- Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment: £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced). The cost of the DBS application will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.
- You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

- Salary and visa information: this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker visa. Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa should check eligibility, e.g., at https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa. Successful applicants with no NHS experience may be placed at the bottom of the band per Agenda for Change; this salary level may affect visa sponsorship.
