Job summary

A respected energy firm is seeking an Offshore Metering Technician for an ad hoc role. You'll perform inspections and calibrations of metering systems in accordance with safety standards. Required qualifications include CompEx certification and offshore experience. This position offers flexibility and is ideal for someone currently between roles. The role is located offshore in the North Sea.

Job description
Overview

We're seeking a skilled Offshore Metering Technician to provide cover for a team member currently off sick.

STARTING MID SEPT 2025

This ad hoc opportunity is based in the North Sea, supporting a well-established operation with a strong safety culture and efficient workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Perform inspection, maintenance, and calibration of metering systems
  • Calibrate and verify flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature sensors, and associated instrumentation
  • Support fault-finding and troubleshooting across control and safety systems
  • Ensure compliance with site procedures and offshore safety standards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maintain operational integrity
Essential Requirements
  • CompEx certification (EX01-EX04 minimum)
  • Proven offshore experience in metering and control systems
  • Strong understanding of hazardous area equipment and ATEX compliance
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities
Desirable
  • Small Bore Tubing Training (SBT02) or equivalent
  • Familiarity with permit-to-work systems and isolation procedures
  • Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
Location & Duration
  • Offshore North Sea
  • Ad hoc position, expected to last several weeks (with potential for extension and future ad hoc work)

Would suit someone who's looking for Adhoc or is in between roles to support them before securing a permanent position.
