Job summary

  • Personal lived experience of mental health challenges (essential).
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community is helpful but not essential.

About Jami

Jami supports over 1,400 people each year through advice, advocacy, treatment, support, education and community programmes. Our Hubs in Redbridge and Hackney offer social connection, activities and practical support to people living with mental health challenges.

The Role

We’re looking for a Mental Health Support Worker to help create a welcoming, supportive environment across both Hubs. You will:

  • Plan and facilitate social and recreational activities
  • Build positive relationships and offer 1:1 practical support
  • Complete assessments and link people to relevant Jami services
  • Signpost to community and statutory services
  • Support cultural and faith‑based events and activities
  • Maintain accurate records and work within safeguarding and confidentiality guidelines

We work within a peer support model, so lived experience of mental health is welcomed and valued.

This post is part time working 9am to 5pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for 22.5 hours per week excluding breaks.

You will be based at our Elliott Simmons Centre for Wellbeing, Leila’s House, 55 Christchurch Avenue, Finchley, N12 0DG and will require travel to Redbridge and Hackney.

About You
