Job summary

A specialized education provider in Windsor is seeking a Mental Health Mentor to support KS1 to KS4 students. Responsibilities include mentoring and teaching students with special needs and promoting their mental health. The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree and experience in youth work or mental health support. This role offers a contract at £85-£100 per day, starting ASAP.

Overview

Mental Health Mentor - Specialist School — Windsor, KS1 to KS4 students. ASAP Start — £85-£100 per day. The school serves students who have experienced trauma, have SEN, behavioural disorders, or other mental health issues.

Responsibilities
  • Mentor, teach and support young people who are struggling to access education.
  • Work 1:1 with pupils with Special Needs and Challenging Behaviour.
  • Collaborate with fully trained therapists, psychologists and other professionals within the education/mental health field.
  • Promote young people\'s mental health and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Graduate with a degree graded 2:2 or above is ideal; some previous experience working with SEN children desirable.
  • Experience with challenging behaviour and a background in youth work, mental health, or SEN in sport is relevant.
  • Degrees of particular interest include Psychology and Criminology.
  • Confident, dedicated and enthusiastic about contributing to a child\'s education.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills; restraint training desirable.
