We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Social Worker to join our Primary Care team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A Prison located in London.

HMP Belmarsh is a male, maximum security prison that has a capacity for 910 inmates. Healthcare at HMP Belmarsh includes, Dentists, Primary Care, Mental Health, Substance abuse and Pharmacy.

Hours

Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00. Hours may change in the future, so the candidate is required to be flexible and able to work 12 hour shifts.

Salary

Up to £53,000 depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Main duties of the job
  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options.
  • Assess patients health needs and be able to risk assess with sound clinical knowledge.
  • Provide advice, support and information and manage a caseload of patients.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference.
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required.
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders.

Qualifications required:

  • SWE registered social worker
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
