A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a CAMHS practitioner to deliver assessments and interventions to autistic children and young people. The role involves providing specialist care in collaboration with families and support networks, managing a caseload, and implementing trauma-informed interventions. Ideal candidates will have experience working with autistic youth and possess current UK professional registration.
As a CAMHS practitioner, you will have an active role in providing assessments and interventions to autistic children and young people experiencing a high level of distress, and who require specialist, trauma-informed intervention. You will work within relevant local, national and professional guidelines, for example NICE guidelines. You will be involved in holistic assessments (including risk management) and managing a small caseload, delivering person-centred, effective treatment and interventions to help autistic children and young people develop skills and strategies to thrive. You will work directly with children and young people with mental health needs or high distress, to improve quality of life and wellbeing, and collaborate with carers/families and support networks including schools, social care, voluntary and partnership agencies to ensure a holistic approach and positive outcomes in relation to young peoples mental and emotional wellbeing.
