Job summary

A national law firm is seeking a Medico Legal Records (MLR) Nurse for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role involves sorting and indexing medical records and requires a minimum of 10 years clinical experience in related fields. Your Role and What You'll Be Doing

We have got a fantastic opportunity for a Medico Legal Records (MLR) Nurse to join our MLR team. We are recruiting for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Sort, index, pagination of digital medical records for Personal Injury clients.
  • Preparation of a medical chronology and radiology schedule.
  • Identification of crucial missing records.
  • Interpret abbreviations, handwriting and medical terminology where required.
  • 35 hours per week (with the ability to work these flexibly and from home).
About You
  • As this is a senior (clinical) administrative role, a minimum of 10 years clinical experience is required.
  • Band 6 minimum in clinical position.
  • Educated to degree level, or equivalent, in Nursing or Midwifery.
  • If education or experience is particularly specialised, must be able to demonstrate versatility in other clinical areas.
  • Excellent IT literacy – previous use of Microsoft programmes and Adobe necessary.
  • Flexible to changes in procedure and IT.
  • An understanding of Data Protection and confidentiality.
  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Clinical experience in the following areas – Theatre, Critical Care, Orthopaedics, Tissue Viability, Diabetes, Practice Nursing/Community Nursing.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Confidential and professional manner.
  • High standards of personal presentation.
  • Work on own initiative.
  • Able comfortably to liaise with range of people.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Ability to cope under pressure.
