Job summary

A regional mental health trust in Manchester is seeking a Band 4 Medical Personal Assistant who is highly organised and ready to support multiple consultants within the CAMHS Specialist services. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of medical terminology and have at least 2 years of medical secretary experience. Additional skills in leadership and filing systems are beneficial. This full-time position offers a salary between £27,485 to £30,162 per year pro-rata, along with comprehensive benefits including 27 days of annual leave and a pension scheme.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years previous medical secretary experience or equivalent.

  • Previous NHS experience, preferably in a mental health setting is desirable.

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly organised Band 4 Medical Personal Assistant (37.5 hours per week) to work with the CAMHS Specialist services at Junction 17. We are seeking a medical personal assistant with a can‑do attitude who enjoys working in a large team and demonstrates a commitment to delivering high quality administration support in an efficient and timely manner.

Main duties

To provide a full and comprehensive PA role to multiple consultants, clinical staff and members of the multi‑disciplinary team within the Specialist Services Care Group.

You will be a well organised and experienced administrator with knowledge of medical terminology. You will ensure all consultants and clinicians within your area of responsibility are organised and equipped to fulfil their responsibilities. Appropriate electronic and paper filing systems will be maintained, along with coordinating their clinical activities.

To carry out all relevant tasks pertinent to the Specialist role of the Consultant Psychiatrists.

This role will be responsible for the effective coordination of the referral system.

Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Relevant Level 3 competency based qualification (RSA/OCR/NVQ/Business Admin).
  • Experience of EPR system (GMMH Paris System).
  • Evidence of leadership/supervisory skills.
  • Minimum 2 years previous medical secretary experience or equal demonstrative experience.
  • Knowledge of referrals, admission, discharge procedures and processes (desirable).
  • NHS experience, preferably in a mental health setting (desirable).
  • Minute‑taking experience (desirable).
  • Digital dictation experience (desirable).
