The MRS/Coder isresponsible for summarising all records received at the surgery whether onpaper or electronically via GP2GP transfer, according to the practice protocol.

Additionally, theMedical Summariser may assist the tidying up of computer-held records inpreparation for patients open access to records or provision of data to otherhealthcare providers.

Main duties of the job

The role will also include checking coding on patient medical records fulfils contractual obligations. For example, Primary Care Network and Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and other summarising tasks as required.

Experience in medical terminology, clinical coding and summarising is essential.

All work must be carried out with strict adherence to patient confidentiality protocols.
