Overview

We\'ll look to you to lead the delivery of innovative, proactive media campaigns, while maintaining excellent contact with banking and business journalists from across the key national outlets. As a spokesperson for the bank across a range of matters, you\'ll gain valuable exposure as you make sure the bank\'s strategy is effectively and accurately communicated. Our Media Relations team operates within a hybrid working model, which is why we\'re open to applicants across the UK, with occasional travel to our London office. We\'re offering this role for a period of eight months, and this role could also be available as a job share opportunity.

What you\'ll do

In this creative role, you\'ll provide excellent media advice and creative ideas to support to senior stakeholders. By leading a campaign team, you\'ll not only deliver multi-channel media campaigns, but will also decide which media stories to run and when, using your judgment of the wider public news agenda. Additionally, you\'ll be:

  • Establishing strong internal networks and relationships with key external stakeholders, particularly consumer journalists
  • Managing multiple high profile news stories
  • Preparing press releases and media materials which align to the bank\'s narrative and core messaging
  • Securing positive media coverage for the bank across a range of media outlets

We\'ll be looking for you to have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence at senior level. You\'ll have experience of dealing with the media and PR, from origination of PR campaigns through to delivery and will have good knowledge of IT programmes and media databases.
