We are a well-established MEP contractor based in Kent, specialising in high-quality mechanical and electrical projects across various sectors. We take pride in delivering innovative and reliable solutions to clients within the education sector, commercial office fit-outs, and beyond. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our dynamic team.

Role Overview:

As the Mechanical Project Manager, you will oversee the successful delivery of mechanical services projects, with a specific focus on plant room installations within the education sector and commercial office fit-outs. You will manage projects from pre-construction through to handover, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple mechanical projects simultaneously, ranging in value from 100k to 5M.
  • Lead project teams and subcontractors, ensuring effective coordination and communication.
  • Oversee all aspects of project planning, procurement, and delivery.
  • Ensure projects meet all quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce and present regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to project delivery.
  • Ensure project documentation is maintained and up to date.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager within the MEP sector.
  • Strong background in delivering plant room projects for the education sector and office fit-outs.
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical services, including HVAC, pipework, and plant systems.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
  • Effective leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across Kent and surrounding areas.

Desirable:

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • SMSTS or equivalent health and safety qualification.
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies (CIBSE, IMECHE, etc.).
