A leading nuclear engineering contractor, currently delivering one of the UK’s most complex and high-profile infrastructure programmes, has retained our services to appoint a Project Director.

This role will be crucial in the success of this £multi-bn nuclear project.

You will oversee the entire c£500m mechanical piping scope of works, leading a team of 1500+, ensuring its efficient and safe delivery on a project that is critical to the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility for the efficient and safe delivery of the Mechanical Piping scope of works (100s of kms).
  • Leadership of a directly-managed construction workforce of 1500+.
  • Ensure timescales are met by driving continuous improvement across the piping scope to improve project efficiency.
  • Oversee workforce planning, collaborating closely with partner companies, to ensure that the necessary skills and people are available when required.
  • Act as the key link between construction delivery teams and the end client; focused on building collaborative working relationships.
  • Interact with senior stakeholders across the project.
  • Lead and foster a positive safety culture.
Requirements
  • Experience leading large-scale mechanical infrastructure projects that involve a significant amount of high-integrity piping installation.
  • Experience in the nuclear sector (or other relevant sectors, such as oil & gas, petrochemical, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, other energy plants).
  • Experience of successfully delivering projects through a self-delivery model.
  • The ability to devise and implement continuous improvement to mechanical projects.
