Mechanical Fitter - Industrial Pumps & Pipework

Location: Glasgow

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Contract Type: Permanent

First Achieve Engineering is working with a well-established client in the pump systems and industrial maintenance sector, who are continuing to grow due to strong demand across key industries. With multiple locations across Scotland, they serve a broad customer base stretching from the Shetland Isles to the North of England, covering sectors such as Agriculture, Oil & Gas, Marine, Biogas, Brewing & Distilling, Water Treatment, Leisure, and Food Processing.

As a result of this growth, we’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their Glasgow-based team, working across both Contracts and Service divisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mechanical installation and maintenance work within the industrial sector
  • Routine maintenance and repairs of pumps, motors, and packaged pump systems
  • Installation of pipework, particularly around pump stations and treatment facilities
  • Completion of daily reports and health & safety documentation
  • Conducting risk assessments and reporting any issues to line management
  • Fault-finding and mechanical inspection of pump systems
  • Ensuring all tasks are completed safely and in line with current H&S legislation
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven experience in industrial mechanical fitting and maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of pipework, pumps, motors, valves, and mechanical systems
  • Experience working in water treatment, wastewater, or similar industrial environments
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organisational skills and initiative
  • Willingness to be part of a call-out rota
