Mechanical Fitter - Various UK Locations

£16.00 - £18.00 per hour + Overtime + Allowances

EFAB Resourcing are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a privately owned, multi-disciplined mechanical engineering company established in 2010 and continuing to grow year on year.

We are seeking experienced or time‑served Mechanical Fitters to work on a variety of industrial engineering projects. This is a hands‑on, physically demanding role where you'll be working in challenging environments – but you'll be well rewarded for your skills and commitment.

The Role

Working as part of a close‑knitted team, you will be involved in:

  • Installation, decommissioning, and relocation of machinery in fully operational plants
  • Steelwork, piping, and ducting installations to specification
  • Conveyor installations and mechanical assembly
  • Machinery movement and relocation projects
  • Welding and fabrication as required
  • Interpreting technical drawings
  • Preparing worksites, materials, and equipment

Projects are carried out at various UK locations and occasionally across Europe, so regular travel and working away from home will be part of the role (approx. 22 days per month including some weekends).

What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in industrial settings
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Skilled in mechanical assembly and dismantling
  • Welding experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Flexibility to travel and work overtime/weekends when required
Hours & Pay
  • Core Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.00pm
  • Regular overtime – most days 10 hours (8 hours standard + 2 hours OT)
  • Rates: £16 – £18 p/h basic | £24 – £27 p/h overtime/weekends
  • Overnight Allowance: £20 (rising to £28 after 13 weeks)
Shifts & Travel
  • 12 days working away (return Friday afternoon / weekend off)
  • 5 days away (return Friday afternoon)
  • 5 days local (home each night)
