The role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll contribute to our mission of cleaning up the nuclear legacy and supporting nuclear energy initiatives. Our work spans decommissioning, supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, and aiding the operation and build of nuclear power plants. We aim to make nuclear safer, faster, and more cost-effective, supporting UK’s Net Zero commitments through projects like Hinkley C, Sizewell C, and X Energy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting effective cooperation across Engineering and other teams.
  • Interfacing with customers and supply chain on design and procurement issues.
  • Ensuring application of procedures, codes, and standards.
  • Contributing to Product Safety Assessment and stakeholder engagement.
  • Conducting technical investigations and analysis.
  • Driving process improvements for quality and efficiency.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based at Bristol, Warrington, Leicester, or Newbury with hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience

Nuclear experience is not required. We welcome applicants from all engineering backgrounds who demonstrate:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools and engineering drawing practices.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance.
