The role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be involved in decommissioning nuclear facilities, supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, and the operation and build of nuclear power plants. Our goal is to clean up the nuclear legacy and contribute to energy security, safety, and net zero commitments.

Our team handles defence, decommissioning, new build, and nuclear generation projects, winning over 78% of tenders. We innovate to make nuclear safer, faster, and more cost-effective, supporting UK’s Net Zero targets through projects like Hinkley C, Sizewell C, and X Energy.

Day-to-day responsibilities
  • Promote effective cooperation across engineering and other teams.
  • Interface with customers and supply chain on design and procurement specifications.
  • Ensure proper application of procedures, codes, and standards.
  • Contribute to Product Safety Assessments and stakeholder engagement.
  • Conduct technical investigations and analysis for problem solving and design improvements.
  • Drive process improvements for quality and efficiency.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based at Bristol, Warrington, Leicester, or Newbury, with hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience

Nuclear experience is not required. We seek candidates who own and deliver, champion high performance, and are willing to challenge the status quo. We welcome applicants from all engineering backgrounds who meet the following:

  • Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools and general engineering drawing practices.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance.
