Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine planned maintenance and update all maintenance and equipment documentation.
  • React to daily concerns for production machinery breakdown maintenance.
  • Assist technical staff with development and continuous improvement work.

Job description

Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter

Salary: £44,000 to £46,000 per annum + overtime (paid at x1.5 & x2.0) + benefits + opportunity to move up within their pay scales

Hours: Rotation Days/Nights, 12 hour shifts 6 till 6 (Week one - 5 shifts and week two - 2 shifts)

Location: Commutable from Fareham, Portsmouth, Waterlooville, Havant, Southampton, Chichester and surrounding areas

We are recruiting for a reputable Manufacturer who are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Mechanical Fitter who are looking for an opportunity to settle, build, and grow within their loyal, supportive and friendly team. Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader and Engineering Manager
  • Carry out routine planned maintenance and update all maintenance and equipment documentation.
  • Breakdown maintenance to all production machinery, reacting to daily concerns and support in getting equipment back in to correct operating condition - urgency is key here
  • Complete tooling changes and adjustments to machines, with the assistance of the appropriate Operator / Maintenance Engineer.
  • Work across various projects including machinery upgrades, relocations, new installations and commissioning of new production lines.
  • Assist technical staff and be involved with development and continuous improvement work.
  • If the opportunity of training courses or further education/qualifications are offered, someone who is interested in better themselves would be highly desirable.
Requirements
  • Completed a recognised mechanical engineering or similar apprenticeship or hold mechanical (or similar) qualifications
  • Mechanical fitting/maintenance experience including ANY of the following; bearings, belts, chains, pumps, gear boxes, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, tool changes, workshop work etc.
  • Experience of working to planned preventative maintenance schedules and attending to breakdowns - preferred
  • Proactive work attitude with a friendly view of working
  • Worked within a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred or similar
  • Maintenance of machinery and equipment
  • Willingness to learn
