BAM FM is recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the team based at East Midlands Airport. Working 40 hours per week.

Reporting directly to the Account Manager, you will be expected to support the mechanical and technical delivery across the site.

Your mission
  • Ensure the safe and effective operation of all M&E services, including a broad range of plant such as AHUs, pumps, motors, pipework systems, LTHW systems, pressure systems, and associated equipment.
  • Consistently carry out inspections, cleaning, servicing, maintenance, and record-keeping in line with company standards, SFG20 requirements, and all relevant Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies.
  • Maintain and improve the reliability, availability, and safety of building services equipment.
  • Undertake repairs within your level of training, competence, and authorisation.
  • Deliver Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities and complete all required documentation and reports.
  • Respond to reactive and emergency breakdowns, ensuring all associated paperwork is accurately completed.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota to provide full emergency cover for the client.
  • Work in full compliance with company procedures, policies, and operational requirements.
  • Accurately complete all work-related documentation in a timely manner.
  • Carry out duties safely, professionally, and with due diligence at all times.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
  • Perform additional tasks aligned with your skills and capabilities as required.

What do you bring to the role?
  • Proven experience and a recognised qualification or apprenticeship in a mechanical discipline.
  • Practical engineering experience working with LTHW, HVAC systems, and AHUs within industrial or commercial environments delivering M&E services.
  • Experience participating in an out-of-hours call-out rota.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices; IOSH certification is an advantage.
  • Demonstrates strong customer service skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
  • Ability to anticipate, diagnose, and effectively repair faults.
