Job summary

Mechanical Draftsman / Design Engineer

Location: Swindon Wiltshire

Duration: 5 months

Project ESF Facility

Rate - 35p / hr ltd Outside IR35

Security Clearance: Must hold or be eligible to obtain entry level security checks (BPSS)

Responsibilities

• Produce drawings for parts of equipment including generators and distribution equipment
• Lead and contribute to the mechanical design of systems and supporting structures
• Provide engineering support through prototype build testing and qualification phases resolving design issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct design reviews and configuration management activities in collaboration with Maintenance and Mechanical Engineering teams

Experience and Qualifications

• Over 5 years experience within design engineering having completed projects of generators and distribution equipment
• Proficient in AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS
• Familiarity with MOD standards and Defence Standards relevant to mechanical and power systems.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for military grade equipment
