Mechanical Design Engineer Job Overview

• Provide mechanical design and development for new and existing products.
• Communicate and liaise with customers on design aspects of processes.
• Complete design and associated tasks to meet production time scales.
• Provide build specifications, engineering instructions, and technical assistance for the production process.
• Assist in reviewing workshop activity, build stations, production quality issues, and product quality issues as part of a multi-disciplinary team; promote and instigate improvements.
• Resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceability of products working with manufacturing and service personnel.
• Prepare and update engineering drawings and relevant technical documentation related to the design and build of products.
• Record and update design-related activity details for production projects.

Mechanical Design Engineer Job Requirements

• A degree in mechanical engineering is essential.
• Previous experience as a mechanical engineer.
• Proficient with SolidWorks or similar CAD design packages.
• Experience in manufacturing industry is desirable but not essential.
• Based within a commutable distance of Ayr.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £25,000 to £40,000, dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications.
