Mechanical Design Engineer

Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

Salary £40 - £45,000 DOE

21 days holiday + bank holidays (increase with service), standard pension, overtime paid hourly, company bonus

The role is based in Mansfield after initial training. Hybrid working is available; however the successful candidate must live within a 15‑mile radius of Mansfield.

Overview

Our client is established and well recognised in their field; they manufacture bespoke conveyor and handling systems for a variety of customers in the FMCG industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide innovative design concepts, value engineer solutions and manufacturing drawing packages using Autodesk Inventor 3D and AutoCAD 2D CAD software.
• Work on and be a key driver on multiple bespoke projects from proposal and concept design through to production and installation.
• Identify suitable suppliers for special parts and equipment and implement accurate working assembly drawings, cutting lists and BoMs.
• Travel to sites for design survey and follow‑up visits.
• Communicate effectively with customers and at all levels, especially during on‑site requirement discussions.
