Job summary

A key player in facilities management is seeking a Mechanical Craftsperson to maintain systems at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital estate in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience in healthcare environments, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. You will perform both planned and reactive maintenance across various mechanical systems. This position offers a pay rate of £16.38 - £19.30, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm.

  • Strong understanding of building services mechanical systems.

Mechanical Craftsperson - Birmingham (Selly Oak)

We are recruiting a Mechanical Craftsperson to carry out maintenance across the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) estate.

Working Hours:

Monday - Friday, between 7am - 7pm (Shift patterns: 8am-4pm or 11am-7pm)

Pay Rate:

£16.38 - £19.30

Location:

Mainly Acute Hospital, with some work across Mental Health and Retained Estate sites.

Key Duties:
  • Deliver planned and reactive mechanical maintenance

  • Work across mechanical systems including AHUs, FCUs, boilers, calorifiers and plant equipment

  • Ensure compliance with HTM standards, H&S and Equans KPIs

  • Complete jobs and update records using CAFM/Maximo systems

  • Support site operations and respond to maintenance issues as required

Requirements:
  • City & Guilds (or equivalent) Mechanical qualifications

  • Mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent training

  • Experience within healthcare or critical environments preferred

  • Strong understanding of building services mechanical systems
