Job description
Overview

£55,000 per annum including shift allowance. Zenith People is proud to be partnering with a leading manufacturer in their search for a Mechanical Biased Shift Maintenance Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team in a fully automated production environment, where your expertise will be vital in maintaining high standards of performance and reliability. This role follows a continental shift pattern, alternating between day and night shifts: Cycle: 4-week rotation averaging 42 hours per week. Enjoy every other weekend off!

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to reduce downtime
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives with the engineering team
  • Accurately document all maintenance activities using CMMS
  • Ensure strict adherence to health & safety protocols
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Mentor and support apprentices and junior technicians
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues affecting production efficiency
  • Collaborate with the projects team to enhance control systems
Required Skills & Experience
  • Time-served technician with a strong mechanical bias and proven experience in high-volume manufacturing
  • A completed apprenticeship in a relevant discipline
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Expertise in fault finding, preventative and reactive maintenance
