Job description
Mechanical Assembly Operative

Location: Swindon

Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour DOE

Hours: Mon-Thu 07:45-16:30, Fri 07:45-14:00 (every 3rd Fri until 16:00)

We are looking for a proactive Mechanical Assembler to support both warehouse and production operations. This hands‑on role includes mechanical assembly, fault diagnosis, pressure testing and general warehouse functions. Ideal for candidates looking to grow their mechanical production skills within a well‑established engineering environment. Full training provided.

Main Responsibilities
  • Mechanical assembly of components such as hoses, valves, pumps, motors and fittings.
  • Working with fizzing machines and specialist beverage/dispense equipment.
  • Stripping, cleaning, repairing and preparing components for rebuild.
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Conducting pressure tests and quality checks.
  • Operating forklifts and LLOPs (forklift licence essential).
  • Handling pallets, dispatch, goods-in/out and courier collections.
  • Maintaining accurate stock control records.
  • Completing SRM/export paperwork and documentation.
  • Following SOPs and maintaining the work area to 5S standards.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Mechanical production or assembly experience.
  • Forklift licence/experience (preferred).
  • Stock control experience (preferred).
  • SRM/export knowledge.
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical/electrical faults.
  • Experience with pressure testing (preferred).
  • Comfort working with mechanical components and tools.
  • F‑Gas qualification beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.
