This full-time, permanent post is ideal for a dedicated professional ready to take ownership of their own classes and contribute fully to the departmental success within Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).

The Role: Inspiring the Next Generation of Mathematicians

The core focus of this position is to plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, engaging Maths lessons. You will be responsible for a full timetable of classes, ensuring exceptional progress and positive outcomes for all students aged 11-16, spanning topics from fundamental arithmetic and algebra at KS3 up to GCSE level Maths at KS4, which includes subjects like geometry, statistics, and higher-level functions. You will be expected to use formative and summative assessment strategies to effectively guide student learning in a way that fosters a deep conceptual understanding of mathematical principles.

What We Offer

A competitive salary is paid weekly, strictly adhered to the Main Pay Scale (MPS) or Upper Pay Scale (UPS), commensurate with experience. This is a stable, permanent position offering excellent career progression, a robust Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program specifically focusing on innovative maths pedagogy and curriculum development, and the chance to work within a highly collaborative and supportive departmental team dedicated to excellence in mathematics.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Maths educator who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Mathematics (or a closely related quantitative field).

  • Possesses recent, demonstrable experience teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Maths, with a strong track record of securing excellent GCSE Maths results.

  • Exhibits excellent classroom management and organisational skills, particularly in handling diverse learning needs in mathematics.

  • Is passionate about their subject and committed to raising student attainment across all mathematical abilities.

  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements for Maths at both KS3 and KS4.

  • Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.

Key Responsibilities

You will take full responsibility for the learning and achievement of all pupils in your classes, including planning, preparation, and detailed marking of complex mathematical work. Other duties include contributing to the development of engaging schemes of work in Maths, assessing student progress and providing timely feedback, undertaking a form tutor role, and actively participating in whole-school life and training.

If you are ready to secure a stable, permanent role and make a significant contribution to our Maths department's future, we encourage you to apply.
