Overview

We are investing in our Maths and English team and are looking to appoint inspirational GCSE Maths teachers to teach our students who are at college studying vocational qualifications. The role is based at Abingdon Campus and is a permanent contract with 30 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Teach GCSE Maths to college students, with consideration for varying prior attainment (Grade 1 to Grade 3) and where applicable, use Functional Skills for learners depending on their chosen industry.
  • Assess learners’ knowledge, identify gaps, and implement effective strategies to support progression into work or further education.
  • Collaborate with the English and Maths faculty to share resources and reduce workload across the team.
  • Contribute to a teaching environment that supports students who have historically struggled with English and Maths, helping them achieve essential skills alongside vocational qualifications.
  • Adapt delivery to reflect the differences between college teaching and school-based teaching, recognising the absence of lunchtime supervision and pastoral structures in this context.
