We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable person to join our team who is able to work flexibly within the shift patterns on our busy maternity wards. You will be expected to work a mixture of day and night shifts including weekends and bank holidays.

The Maternity Support Worker is a valuable member of the team that delivers clinical care under the supervision of a registered midwife. The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary team of both midwives and medical staff within the maternity service to provide high quality care, support and advice to women and their partners in the maternity setting.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a development role and you are expected to meet the requirements of a band 3 Maternity Support Worker within 12-18 months from commencing employment. If unable to meet the requirements and there are no exceptional or unforeseen circumstances, then redeployment as a band 2 healthcare support worker to another clinical area will be considered.This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
