Materials Manager - Advanced Manufacturing

Location: Lower Dicker, East Sussex

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking an experienced Materials Manager to lead and optimise production planning, purchasing, stores, and logistics within a precision, low-batch, high-complexity manufacturing environment.

This is a leadership role offering the opportunity to shape scalable processes and drive operational excellence in a growing, innovation-driven business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team of 9 professionals, driving accountability and engagement.
  • Deliver and sustain On-Time Delivery targets of 95% for both customers and suppliers.
  • Implement and oversee efficient purchasing, planning, and logistics processes.
  • Develop scalable systems and continuous improvements to support business growth.
  • Collaborate across Production, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Sales to ensure alignment.
  • Contribute operational insight and commercial awareness to strategic decision-making.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years' experience in purchasing, planning, and logistics, with at least 5 years in leadership.
  • Proven track record in production planning and purchasing in a low-batch, complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and manufacturing best practices.

  • Higher education in a relevant field.
