Overview

The Procurement & Supplies Dept. are looking to appoint a Materials Management Officer to join their Materials management team based at University Hospitals Coventry with occasional cover at Hospital of St Cross.

The successful applicant will be part of a Materials Management team monitoring the stock in the storerooms on wards and departments within the Trust as part of the internal supply chain service.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage the materials management function at ward / department level, acting as a primary point of contact and attending ward / department meetings when required.
  • Be able to manage this physically demanding role which involve moving, handling and checking of goods for much of the working day.
  • Provide the level of service required by the Trust from the Materials Management function.
  • Undertake weekly ward stock takes, capture requirements using electronic automatic data capture equipment and input data as required on to computerised ordering system.
  • Support the expansion of the Materials Management function across the remaining wards and departments within the Trust in accordance with the proposed Materials Management 'roll out' plan.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Have previous experience of working in a similar store’s areas / retail environment.
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Have General IT skills keyboard skills
  • Have Good standard of numeracy and literacy
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

The Department requires an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to assist in providing an efficient and cost effective materials management service to wards and departments at University Hospitals, Coventry.

Duties of this physically demanding role will include visiting areas, checking and agreeing stock levels and ordering and replenishing stocks. The individual will support all wards clinical and non clinical as well as Receipts and Distribution. The handling and moving of roll cages across the organisation into wards areas is a key part of this role and the individual will need to be able to meet the physical and operational demands of the Trust.
