Materials Coordinator

Job Title: Materials Coordinator
Company: Manpower
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Contract: Temporary
Hours: Full Time

Responsibilities
  • Identify early all required materials in line with GRS 6F milestones to enable early procurement.
  • Collaborate with the Materials Co‑ordinator to identify long‑lead delivery items.
  • Procure exchanger gaskets in accordance with up‑to‑date sizes and material specifications.
  • Obtain exchanger gasket drawings and secure agreement signatures from the Owner’s Engineer.
  • Ensure gaskets are ordered only against approved drawings or sketches that are signed off for each T/A event.
  • Maintain records of exchanged gasket sketches.
  • Lead the team to identify items requiring client inspection early in the event or T/A worklist.
  • Complete Material Criticality Clarification Requests (MCCR) for special material requirements and obtain approvals from the equipment owner’s engineer.
  • Request budget authority for purchasing required materials, raise material purchase requests within the SAP system, and ensure approval with relevant DOAG approval.
  • Arrange purchase in line with UKAPM Procurement Procedures or reserve material stock items using SAP.
  • Ensure P.M.I. requirements are met and store materials in the Turnaround designated lay‑down area within the warehouse.
  • Set up secure storage and lay‑down areas to protect company assets during an event or Turnaround.
  • Maintain daily contact with the Turnaround Team, respond to urgent material requirements, and coordinate out‑of‑hours deliveries, including security and TAG Block Leader notifications.
  • Adhere to the Materials Dispatch Procedure for items leaving the site: complete MDRs, obtain authorising signatures, and retain copies.
  • Track the progress of equipment removed for overhaul until it is returned to site, and manage associated documentation.
  • At the end of the Turnaround, review surplus materials, determine if they should be returned, sold, or disposed of, and produce a Close‑Out Report highlighting procurement anomalies and equipment issues.
