Overview

The Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit (SDU) at UCH is a highly respected unit with certification to ISO 13485 and MDR accreditation. It is based in University College Hospital and provides a centralised decontamination service to UCLH Foundation Trust, alongside a centralised Endoscopy Decontamination Unit, a satellite Sterile Services Department for the dental hospital and a Neonatal Decontamination Unit.

Role

We are seeking to recruit a Sterile Services Materials Assistant to work with our technical team, organising and managing technical materials, consumables and surgical instruments.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the department’s high standards of decontamination and sterilisation.
  • Effectively organise the flow of items through the unit.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to ensure efficient operation of the 24/7 service.
  • Support the sustainable practices and quality systems in place.
Qualifications
  • Commitment to personal development and a flexible, conscientious working style.
  • Experience working within a decontamination facility is preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterile services, decontamination equipment and surgical instruments is an advantage.
Working Hours

The unit operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
