Description & Requirements

Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news and providing analysis on financial markets, from daily coverage through to in-depth features. We are known for our quality, accuracy and ability to deliver news investors can use. It’s what keeps us inventing and re-inventing, all the time.

We are looking for a talented and versatile journalist to join the EMEA Markets Editing team. This is an opportunity to shape stories across stocks, credit, emerging markets, currency and rates markets in a variety of formats. You will be challenged to write for a global audience, as well as handle quick turnarounds on breaking news and speedy market analysis.

You’re a self-starter with a strong work ethic, a quick study who thrives under pressure and can navigate unfamiliar territory with aplomb. You are well-rounded enough to jump across different markets and can collaborate with a variety of teams and personalities.

You produce crisp and concise edits that resonate with a wide audience -- from our most sophisticated terminal users to our casual online readers. You’ll help us handle the volume of day-to-day news flow and be strongly encouraged to lead enterprise that raises the bar of our markets coverage.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Edit short- and long-form copy. Be game for everything from short, bullet-point blasts to complex, ambitious enterprise

  • Work closely with reporters to develop and refine their stories

  • Cut through jargon, and make complex stories appealing and understandable to a broad business audience

You’ll need to have:

  • A minimum of 5 years of financial journalism experience

  • Intellectual curiosity and strong news judgement

  • Top-notch writing skills and the ability to craft concise, clean prose under deadline pressure

  • The ability to work in a big, fast-paced newsroom and collaborate with various stakeholders
