Overview

Job Title: Marketing and Recruitment Officer
Location: Ilford Campus
Salary: £24,000 per year (starting) (Salary reviews occur annually after 12 months of employment, with any increases typically taking effect on January 1st each year.)
Job type: Full Time, Permanent - 37.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be actively involved in the marketing and promotion of NCL and maintain accurate and up‐to‐date records of applicants' enquiries, applications and confirmations, as well as details of waiting lists, both for the present and future years.
  • Ensure all potential students' related enquiries receive a professional and efficient reply.
  • To convert customer enquiries into course bookings by identifying their needs and matching NCL products to give a best-fit solution in line with NCL standards and targets.
  • To make changes to booked courses and handle the necessary administration relevant to bookings.
  • To resolve customer complaints at the first point of contact wherever possible.
Marketing
  • Develop a good knowledge of the courses offered by Nelson College London including knowledge on the entry requirements, eligibility criteria for student finance, student finance application process and various policies and procedures.
  • Attract potential students using sales, business development, marketing and networking techniques.
  • Organise and attend creative promotional events/open days, workshops, seminars, and events engaging directly with potential students on a one-to-one and group basis.
  • Identify and approach potential students who may be interested and able to pursue higher education at Nelson College London.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to potential students.
Recruitment
  • Ensure clear measures are in place to report against agreed recruitment targets, including stating marketing tactics that effectively deliver the recruitment targets.
  • Recruit agreed targets suitably qualified students to study courses at Nelson College London.
  • Work with the Marketing and Recruitment Manager, marketing and recruitment officers, admission officers and other relevant staff to implement an annual UK student recruitment plan.
  • Receive and review admission applications, screen applications and shortlist applicants against pre-defined criteria.
  • Ensure the student's application is complete and contains all necessary supporting documents.
  • Create a shortlist of potential students and support the organisation of interviews and diagnostic tests for potential students.
  • Inform candidates of the results of their interviews and diagnostic tests.
  • Performing any other tasks or activities that fall within the overall scope of the job.
Other General College Duties
  • Work flexibly as part of the College team to ensure the smooth running of the College's premises and facilities.
  • Participate in training and team development activities to develop and update skills and knowledge.
  • Demonstrate how the College Health and Safety Policy and priorities are implemented within the department.
