Overview

Marketing & Administration Apprentice — £25,998 per annum. Fixed Term (18 months). Full Time (36 hours). Wandsworth, London.

Note: 2 days office based, 2 WFH, 1 Study day. These will be flexible and subject to change based on study / workshops and business needs.

Are you a confident, computer literate team player who can support with administrative duties across community learning, accredited learning and work experience programmes?

Wandsworth Council Lifelong Learning (WCLL) delivers a number of programmes aimed at improving the lives of Wandsworth residents. As part of this team, you will be contributing to the continuous improvement of the Boroughs of Wandsworth and Richmond services. You will providing a high quality customer service and administrative work across our community and adult learning, accredited learning and work experience programmes whilst working towards a Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketing Apprenticeship standard.

About The Role

As a Marketing & Administration Apprentice, you will assist the Head of WCLL and WBL Manager in maintaining timely, engaging and relevant content on all WCLL websites to meet business needs. You will demonstrate the ability to manage your own tasks and workload whilst supporting with uploading of all content to agreed social media outlets aligning message with website and other marketing initiatives.

You will be expected to develop a good understanding of the Council's priorities for residents, particularly in relation to supporting skills for life and work. You will develop a good understanding of the importance of equality and diversity and health and safety in the workplace.

Working flexibly and co-operatively with colleagues in a team, you will participate in events, promoting services to potential learners utilising your excellent customer service skills and experience in handling people effectively, politely and diplomatically.

Essential Qualifications, Skills And Experience
  • Accredited to Level 2 or equivalent in both English and Maths with previous administration work experience.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to establish and develop robust administrative systems.
  • Understanding of social media channels, especially Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn.
  • A basic understanding of how to edit existing pages on WordPress and create new ones.
  • Good keyboard skills, use of Microsoft Office, email & Outlook Calendar and the internet.
  • High standards in English spelling, grammar, and punctuation coupled with good communication skills and interpersonal skills.

Closing Date: 8th October 2025

Shortlisting Date: 9th October

Interview Date: Starting 27th October 2025 (two stage interview process)

Test: Short written communication test which will be sent to candidates to complete prior to interview. An initial assessment (BKSB) in English and IT (irrelevant of current qualifications) will be carried out.
