The Role

We are seeking a talented Maritime Structural Engineer with a strong composites background to join our delivery team on a high‑profile design project within the maritime defence sector. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting‑edge composite structures and contribute to a project of national significance.

Composites engineering, Structural verification and validation, Composite‑to‑metal interfaces, Structural design codes (Maritime/Civil), Mechanical/Structural analysis, FEA / Structural simulation, BEng / MEng in Mechanical or Structural Engineering, Maritime defence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate engineering and technical activities to deliver project objectives on time and within budget.
  • Perform verification and validation of composite structures using pre‑preg and resin infusion techniques.
  • Critically review your own work and provide peer reviews for colleagues' work packages.
  • Collaborate internally with technical teams and other functions to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and project‑specific processes.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, giving technical presentations at conferences and customer meetings.
  • Promote safety by identifying hazards, recommending risk reduction strategies, and ensuring work is conducted safely.
  • Demonstrate and uphold the company's values, acting as a mentor and fostering collaboration across teams.
Qualifications
  • Degree (BEng/MEng) in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
  • Proven experience in the verification and validation of composite structures using pre‑preg and resin infusion techniques.
  • Experience in delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong ability to work independently and critically assess your own work.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑specialists.
  • Previous experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Knowledge of structural design codes of practice, ideally in Maritime or Civil sectors.
  • Chartered Engineer status, or actively working towards it.
  • Highly motivated, dynamic, and collaborative with a positive attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to innovate and problem‑solve.
  • UK national with the ability to obtain security clearance to the required level.
