Mechanical Fitters - Marine (SC Cleared, 6-Month Contract, Glasgow)

We're looking for experienced Marine Mechanical Fitters to support a high-profile project based in Glasgow. This is a 6-month contract role working on major defence / marine assets, so current SC clearance and formal trade papers are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, assemble and maintain mechanical systems on naval vessels and associated equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to fit, fabricate and modify mechanical components.
  • Work alongside engineers, supervisors and technicians on refit, build and maintenance projects.
  • Carry out work in line with all site, defence and industry safety standards and procedures.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or time-served Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Current SC clearance - essential.
  • Proven experience in marine / naval / shipbuilding or offshore environments.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Must be able to provide trade papers (NVQ / City & Guilds / Apprenticeship certificates).
