Manufacturing Process Lead

Glasgow & Renfrewshire

Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are proud to be working with an industry leading company that produces products for a variety of industries including aviation, automotive and transport industries. We are actively looking for 2 Manufacturing Process Leads, with a strong background in leading smaller teams within manufacturing or industrial settings.

Responsibilities
  • Health & Safety
    • Embed a H&S culture of zero tolerance ensuring the policy is fully understood, owned and implemented by every employee.
    • Ensure machine operators have set up their machines correctly and all pre‑shift safety checks have been completed and recorded.
    • Promote the use of TCards for near miss and hazard reporting and ensure appropriate action is taken to close T‑cards with feedback and recognition to employees.
  • Operational
    • Deliver the production plan, communicating and highlighting any risk to OTIF in a timely manner to the Lead Supervisor.
    • Liaise with the Maintenance team to ensure plant and machinery is kept in full working order, ensuring job requests are logged on Maintain.
    • Conduct daily cycle checks and carry out and maintain a monthly stock take.
    • Takes ownership of production information recording monitoring and improving KPIs.
    • Implement actions identified through internal and external audits (including health & safety and quality inspections) to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
    • Ensure all prescribed quality checks are carried out by machine operators, to ensure product quality is not compromised.
    • Prioritise workplace Organisation ensuring the factory is always customer ready.
    • Investigate defective material, supporting root cause analysis, measuring effectiveness of corrective actions.
    • Manage holiday requests in line with the agreed holiday allocation per area.
    • Review holiday balances quarterly to ensure holiday requests are evenly spread throughout the calendar year and not left until the last quarter.
    • Manage each absence in line with company policy and ensure all return‑to‑work meetings are completed within 24 hours of the employee’s return.
    • Assist in the recruitment of team members.
    • Ensure all payroll related documents are accurately completed and submitted the next working day.
  • Training
    • Identify and deliver all operational training.
    • Conduct on‑job assessments.
    • Monitor and ensure completion of e‑learning refresher training.
Requirements
  • Experience in leading a small team/cell preferably manufacturing/industrial setting.
  • Basic understanding of operational metrics and use of KPI’s.
  • Experience of meeting and exceeding health and safety/environmental/quality requirements.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Skilled in multi‑tasking and prioritising to achieve set targets.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Awareness of managing internal customers within a production environment.
