Job description

Role: Manufacturing Operator
Location: Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk
Hours: Full-time weekends (Shift-based)
Pay: £30,000+
Contract: Permanent position with wide range of benefits

We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Operator to join one of the town's most well-established firms. This is a hands‑on role where you will support the day‑to‑day running of production equipment, assist with processing orders, and help maintain a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.

Hours are rotating weekend shift (Friday‑Sunday). One week you will work 06:00‑18:00 and the next will be 18:00‑06:15.

There is an excellent shift premium which further boosts your salary.

Responsibilities
  • Operating manufacturing and distillation equipment in line with safety procedures
  • Assisting with start‑up and shutdown of plant machinery
  • Carrying out routine checks, housekeeping, and basic maintenance
  • Monitoring production processes and completing quality checks and sampling
  • Loading/unloading materials and supporting order fulfilment
  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene, housekeeping, and safety
  • Operating forklift trucks (training provided if required)
