Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly manufacturing, preferably in automotive, aerospace, machinery, or medical fields.
  • Knowledge in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and optimise mechanical assembly processes
  • Lead lean manufacturing initiatives (Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma)
  • Troubleshoot assembly line issues to reduce downtime
  • Collaborate with Design, R&D, Quality, and Maintenance teams
  • Improve product manufacturability and assembly methods
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 45001)
  • Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation
  • Identify opportunities for automation and Industry 4.0 technology
  • Analyse KPIs and production data to drive improvement
  • Support preventative maintenance planning
  • Train and support production operators
The Person
  • Educated to degree level in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience in mechanical assembly manufacturing in either automotive, aerospace, machinery, medical or consumer goods
  • Knowledge in lean manufacturing and six sigma (Green Belt desirable)
  • Skilled in CAD tools (AutoCad or SolidWorks)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong knowledge of assembly line balancing and/or ergonomics
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work
