Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for a permanent position in the East Manchester area. The successful candidate will manage continuous improvement projects within a large manufacturing site, mentoring junior engineers while combining office and shop-floor work. The role demands a strong background in engineering or manufacturing and experience with CI tools. This position offers a competitive salary between £40K and £50K plus benefits.

Qualifications

  • Academic/working background in manufacturing or engineering.

  • Familiarity with CI tools such as 8D, FMEA, kaizen, DMAIC.

Manufacturing Engineer

£40-50K plus Benefits

East Manchester area, commutable from Oldham, Droylsden, Hyde, Manchester, Ashton-under-Lyne, Stockport, Rochdale

37 Hours 8AM-4PM Monday-Thursday, 8-3.30 Friday

Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineer/Production engineer, with experience of running continuous improvements projects looking to work on a large manufacturing site with progression available?

This role will suit an ambitious candidate who would like to work in a senior role whilst remaining hands on. You will be responsible for managing improvement projects focusing on areas such as layout, automation and waste.

A multi-million pound investment in improvements has already been improved so this will be an exciting time to implement the CI projects.

The Role
  • Full Time permanent role on a large manufacturing site
  • Managing continuous improvement projects in the manufacturing environment
  • Combination of office based work with shop-floor based work
  • Mentor junior/apprentice/graduate production engineers
The Person
  • Academic/working background with manufacturing/engineering. This could be degree, HND, City and Guilds, apprenticeship or be more lean focused
  • Working experience of leading lean/continuous improvement projects
  • Experience of CI tools-8D, FMEA, kaizen, DMAIC etc.
