Manufacturing Engineer (Methods)

Full time, Permanent role

7.30am - 4.00pm Monday - Thursday & 7.30am - 1.30pm Friday

Salary £38,000 - £40,000 per annum

Position Summary

Supporting the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality products, reduced scrap, and improved yield. This role supports NPI, coordinates simulation and metrology activities, drives process standardisation, and leads continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience with CAD Simulation software
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of metrology, 3D scanning, and virtual assembly techniques.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and validate new production methods.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Ensure all processes and testing methods meet customer requirements.
  • Promote process standardisation and continuous improvement across the foundry.
  • Optimise process control tools to enhance quality, reduce lead time, and lower tooling/manufacturing costs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to introduce advanced technologies and consumables.
  • Use simulation software to optimise designs and coordinate related activities.
  • Track and reduce scrap; lead yield‑improvement and cost‑reduction projects.
  • Coordinate metrology and 3D scanning/virtual assembly processes for method validation.
